Method

In Indonesia, many children are exposed to Mandarin at an early age. However, many parents are not able to assist them in developing the language at home, and they often lack the appropriate training for the proper use of the language, either in conversations or writings. Other children receive compulsory Mandarin lessons at school, however more often than not, they have difficulty in learning the language and as a result do not enjoy the lessons and are discouraged to learn Mandarin.

Our method is designed to bridge these needs that some parents were not able to provide at home and at the same time to build confidence and fluency in Mandarin naturally. Not only establishing good foundation in reading, writing, listening and speaking, but we also focus on the fun way of learning Mandarin.

Fun Games and Activities Develop Student's Interest

Instead of using the usual, traditional method of learning Mandarin, where teachers stand in front of the classroom delivering the lesson, while students sit nicely and jot down notes on their book, MINT implements the use of games such as Chinese puzzles and colorful flash cards, as well as various activities like singing Chinese songs and watching videos in order to increase students' interest in Mandarin. We strongly believe that as students grew their interests in learning Mandarin, it will accelerate the fluency in the language.

Personalized Coaching Facilitates Students to Comprehend The Lesson

Each class will be limited to a maximum of ten students, supervised and taught by two teachers. The ratio of one teacher to every five students means guaranteed individualized attention, ensuring that they get the most out of their lessons. When a student has difficulties with certain materials, both native and local teachers are available to help answer the questions or solve the problem.

Interactive Learning Accelerates Language Fluency

MINT's lessons are designed to include full involvement of students as the subject, and teachers as the guide in the learning process. Students are taught to sing with movements, perform plays, and participate in story-telling sessions to actively encourage them to use their newly learned language in a fun process. This interactive learning gives the chance for students to practice the language with their teachers or friends, hence accelerating the fluency in speaking Mandarin.

Parent's Participation Assists Child's Learning

Parents are allowed to view classroom activities through viewing monitors available in the center. MINT openly welcomes parents to be aware of activities conducted during the lesson, since we believe parents' participation plays an important role in the child's ' learning.

Reporting System Helps Parents to Monitor Child's Progress

Parents will receive students' progress report periodically, in order to help them monitor the child's progress. Parents are welcome to communicate with teachers about their child's progress, and discuss ways to improve their child's learning.
